Mini Trainings/Just ran:

  • Video Training: How to create branded content to a brief (29th-31st of July) Expert filmmakers from GlobalGirl Media UK and content creators at Thomson Reuters will take you through 3 days of masterclasses, workshops and hands-on exercises to discover the skills you need to make videos with a specific branded look.

As GGM UK Trustee Tamara says, ‘Ever since brands started utilising social media to connect with their audiences, the world of content marketing hasn’t stopped growing. Organisations of all different sizes and specialities are now delving into their research departments, partnering with publishers and making branded content that ranges from a newsletter to a beautiful documentary film. In this 3-day workshop we will go through a sample brief, exploring the Challenge; the Insight; the Idea and the Execution. The purpose of the training is to unpack the issues brands are facing and conceptualise content solutions that will help them spread the right message the right audience. We will explore who that audience is and how best to reach them.’

Coming up:

Mobile Journalism (MoJo) is a huge and ever-growing style of content provision.  Nowadays, big publishers such as CNN are creating entire 1-hour documentaries on i-phones.  But it’s not easy.  It requires the right equipment and strong storytelling skills.  We feel it’s important that all GlobalGirl Media UK graduates know how to make videos with lightweight equipment.  That way, they are always ready to tell and upload a news story on the ground immediately it happens.  That’s why our next mini-training is:

  • How to create short videos on your phone (November)

We frequently run random events we feel passionately about in the cause of women and broader media participation.  Such as this:

GGM UK hosted a panel discussion for International Women’s Day

Panel Discussion, Be Bold for Change

We invited women we admire…
